Thank you everyone for your help and advice. It is certainly more complex than it initially appeared when I moved here - I should have done far more research prior to doing so on a whim.
I spoke to an accountant last week and he pointed out that Taiwan has a tax treaty with my country.
Does anyone from a country with a tax treaty have experience with filing taxes in Taiwan? Does a tax treaty mean you are only liable to your home country, and do not need to pay taxes in Taiwan?
Do you need to have already paid taxes in your home country so that you can show the tax office your documentation?
