Tax Return into bank account?

This is more complex than it sounds. might leave Taiwan in June but 100000 NTD from tax office will go into my bank account in August. If I go, how do I get the money? Will the account stay open if the ARC has expired?

Yes the account stays open. Leave me your debit card and I’ll withdraw the funds for you.

Seriously though if you leave go to your bank and tell them you’ll be withdrawing the money from overseas. Make them adjust your maximum single withdrawal to 50,000 or even 100,000 if possible. Make sure they don’t have the account frozen for suspicious activity. Taiwan banks love to do stupid shit like that.

I just don’t rely on their visa card working in the UK though it did work okay in Thailand. There are many tales of woe about Taiwan visa cards and foreign ATMs on this site. Maybe it can be used for services even if the ATM doesn’t work?

I guess I need to speak to them.
