Sanxia, San-Hsia, so good they named it twice. 
Well, it’s a little town with a picturesque “old street” and a famous renovated old temple and not a whole lot else. I guess there’s a bus to Taipei, which you’ll probably want to use quite a lot. There’s also what is by all accounts a nice Belgian restaurant, which you may also end up using quite a lot:
