Hi, I was wondering if anyone on this forum has teenage kids who can speak both English and Mandarin and who would like to earn some pocket money by babysitting. I have two energetic boys, ages 3 and 6 and my husband and I would occasionally like to go out on Friday/Saturday nights. We also live with my mother-in-law, who would also be home, but who doesn’t have the energy to watch my boys alone for three or four hours.
So the job would really only involve playing with the kids for a few hours, maybe reading some stories and putting them to bed. My kids speak English as their first language, but Mandarin or Taiwanese would be useful in communicating with my mother-in-law.
We can only pay 250Nt per hour, but it could be a great first working experience for your teenager and a great lesson in responsibility.
