I guess the bookshop would be a good place to ask., They have a section in Eslite with translations from English, but also other languages including French. Most of the books are the super famous ones, but if you ask maybe they can order in lesser known ones.
I have students of that age and see them reading adventure and romance novels in Chinese. There are also those more local bookstores with the manga and the popular novels if you look out for them.
