I had some about 20 years ago on Green Island. Really delicious. I don’t think you get to eat them any more these days, though. Pretty sure you weren’t supposed to at that time, either, but we were young and on the beach with a fire, some sticks of butter and a bag of lemons, and we had these three huge crabs we found in the woods… reprehensible behaviour, to be sure.
I saw one in the fish market here this morning. Fishmonger mentioned somewhere ess than ¥4,000 I believe, but I have a bag full of Alaskan crab legs in the freezer so I passed on the offer.
