Tell us your dating stories

I’m back in the states and online dating.
I feel like my years in Taiwan have helped me understand men a lot better, because men were more candid, because my approval of them didn’t influence whether or not they got laid (they were getting laid anyways)…
it makes it really cute when men here in the states play the game to pretend to be the kind of guy a girl wants to date. Sometimes I help them cut the crap and tell it like it really is. I think they like me for it.

I can’t believe the guys here. They won’t let me pay for anything. They take me on the coolest dates. I’m spoiled for choice. They’re all awesome and I don’t know how to decide who to get more serious with.

The end. or is it…the beginning?

A few ears ago I went on a first date with a psychotically hot little Taiwanese pop tart. We went out to dinner and I listened to her talk about herself for 2 hours. After we left the restaurant she told me that I should show my consideration for her and buy her a watch. I laughed in her face and said I have a watch and it says “it’s time to go”.
I left her standing there on the street.

First date with a woman. I started to talk about a book I was reading. Few minutes into the discussion she made the comment, “Oh you’re so literal.” I realized she meant literary. The date ended soon after that. Never saw her again.

met online, met at a coffee shop in town, when she arrived i was looking around because she looked twenty years older than stated age. Actually she was a nice lady with a sad story but all I wanted to do was get out of there. That put me off online dating for a while!

I bet the guy who dumped this woman has way better stories.

Once, in Taiwan about 25 years ago, I dated a woman who excused herself to go wee-wee. (Linguists would call this an error of register.)

First date, June 14th, 2007. I pick her up in my car, we go to the beach to take a stroll. we have a drink in a venue right on the sand, then take the stroll back. The public urinaries are further than she initially thought. She has to go. She asks me to hold her purse, goes into the bushes and attends the call of the wild. I thought “I could marry her”.

I did.

I think this the most romantic post I’ve read on Forumosa.
