šŸŽ¾ Tennis | Novak Djokovic at the Aussie Open

Looks like Novak can play at Wimbledon this year.

And at the French Open.

Good for him.
Goes to show, though, that the uber-rich have it easier to fight mandatory vaccinations, etc.

Was that ever in doubt? Uk only mandated care workers.

One error. Wimbledon has been reduced to exhibition status this year due to the government instructing Wimbledon to stupidly ban players due to where they were born:

Looks like he has to wait out the pandemic to compete.

non-US citizens must show proof of being fully vaccinated before they fly to the United States

So ridiculous. When will this insanity end?

ā€œScience advances one funeral at a timeā€.

Probably the same sort of thing with socio-political failures.

What Novak is effectively saying is that he, and anyone else who decides to not be vaccinated, should be free to enter a country (in this case the USA). Next he will expect to be allowed entry without a Visa, or even a Passport. Yes, when will it end.

Well, no. Heā€™s saying ā€œfuck you and your stupid rulesā€. If you read his interviews, he appears to genuinely not care whether they let him enter or not.

Read it again. He didnā€™t say that at all. Where has he said he should be free to enter any country he wants?

He didnā€™t use those words, true, but thatā€™s about what he means.

Iā€™m not getting that at all. He isnā€™t getting vaccinated and he will live with the consequences. Even that isnā€™t good enough apparently.

Great! Win-win!

Guy

No, itā€™s a win for Djokovic and a lose for the US authorities, because they look like utter fools with their heads wedged up their rectums, as did the Australian authorities last year. Everyone knows the event will be slightly diminished by his absence. Sure heā€™ll lose some money, but he gets to keep his integrity and his reputation.

No way. He needs to be dragged out in the media again and again to try to humiliate him.
I noticed a local broadcaster anchor likes to over pronounce his name. (Joke a vich) Feels intentional.

But good on him for sticking to his principles over money

Interestingly most US border guards arenā€™t even asking at land borders if people are vaccinated and if they do they arenā€™t asking for proof. But they want to make an example of this guy for daring to go against them.

Yeah, Iā€™ve seen a few videos of that. For some reason, theyā€™re obsessed with Djokovic. Itā€™s all kinds of petty and childish, and heā€™s shown rather impressive restraint dealing with these clowns.

Heā€™s an easy target thatā€™s famous enough that the media will pick up on it and let the plebs know what happens when you go against them.

The funny part is that heā€™s winning. Theyā€™re absolutely livid that he just shrugs and says ā€œokey dokeyā€. Nothing an authoritarian hates more than passive noncompliance.
