Does anybody know any internet ressources with terminology differences between Mainland China and Taiwan? I bookmarked a few ages ago:
some telecom abbreviations
some chemical expressions
some business terminology
and some medical terms. I’m always keen on adding more bookmarks…
When I moved from Shanghai to Taiwan two years ago, I of course struggled with terminology differences… (大拐 aeh, sorry, I mean 左轉 ). And my translators here will always just plainly tell me the translation is wrong if they see something done in Mainland China where the terminology is different (like 菜單 instead of 選單 )
sidenote: back in Shanghai, during the translation of some computer strings, we one day got an email from an overseas project manager:
