OK. I found the 10 odd camping stores on Zhongshan North by Main station as mentioned.
They are pretty useful and have basically everything you need… except Thai fisherman pants 
What does what you want look like? Can you post a photo? Someone may have seen them somewhere, just didn’t know what they were called.
Commonly found in Thailand.
