As a Brit, I really have no idea what one truly expects from a “Thanksgiving” dinner; in fact if weren’t for living here the whole thing would pass me by (perhaps only prompted by Steve Martin and John Candy).
So. please tell me what you would expect and I will have an answer by Tuesday and an offering for Thursday.

can do it again next week at another venue too.
Panda,
Are you saying that the Tavern will not be having a buffet again this year?

Seeker4,
My meaning is that we would like to try another Tgiving dinner next
week if possible. The Tavern will still have buffets but I dont think
they are doing another Tgiving one next week although I could be
wrong. If they would do it again, I think I would go again. It was
only 450 for all you can eat including a drink and the food was good.
What about Q-bar? Anybody know if they are doing anything?

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I’ll pass on the above, sounds good, but not enough Thanksgiving-ish for me, I like the other list that included:
Turkey (whole, baked),
Stuffing/dressing (bread stuffing cooked inside or outside of the turkey)
Sweet potatoes are probably the second-most fundamental Thanksgiving food out there. I don’t think these things are even available (outside of cans) in most grocery stores in the U.S., except around Thanksgiving. Around Thanksgiving you can’t avoid tripping over piles of the things.
It’s almost as bad as pumpkins at Halloween, or goldfish at Fraternity Rush Week.

The Tavern already had one this year. It was mentioned on Forumosa repeatedly. It was yesterday. It was delicious.
I don’t think they’re doing another one next week, but I could be mistaken. However, you could still enjoy their most excellent chicken basket if you like.
Go to Calvary Baptist Church tomorrow for free Thanksgiving meal after church. Services start at 10:45, Sunday school at 9:30. on Yangming Shan no. 21 Yangdedao section one. Praise the Lord and pass the potatoes.

Sounds great. I’ll be there!

You should give Alleycat’s a try. I am given to understand that Alleycat has been fine-tuning his new sweet-potato, corn, turkey, and gravy pizza for weeks, and that it is most excellent.
