The 2007 Youth Travel in Taiwan is Coming!

The Youth Travel in Taiwan is a government-sponsored project aimed at encouraging in-depth traveling and learning experiences not only for Taiwanese youths but also for foreign visitors aged between 15 and 30.

 Itineraries include 6 components: physical challenges, discussion of public issues, an expert tour guide, do-it-yourself experiences, sightseeing, and visits to public works.

 Students majoring in tourism and foreign languages will provide information on the local services and attractions in 4 areas (Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern) through a Tour Buddy Service Center.

 Youth Travel Card, which is free of charge, provides benefits or discounts of up to 50 percent at youth hostels, museums, cultural parks, Chinese learning institutions, and even famous restaurants around Taiwan.

 Taiwan Rail Pass is limited to foreign passport holders who have valid student cards, and provides rail passes of various time lengths at a discount price.

 Digital Tour Buddy is a cell phone that can be applied for online free of charge at least 7 days prior to arriving in Taiwan and picked up at the airport on arrival. It includes an electronic dictionary service to help visitors with useful terms in Chinese and hotline buttons that provide information about restaurants and other activities.

 Youth Guesthouse Network provides low cost, convenient, clean and safe accommodation in the major cities and other popular travel destinations around Taiwan.
