The AI Economy

I wrote this in 2022 with regards to the TSMC gains in my old Taiwan brokerage account which I had closed, and it’s still true in my international account lol.

And if anybody wonders why Meta and MSFT don’t move much these days, well the real easy money was made years ago.

The easy money is where we’re going, not where we’ve been.

It’s still easy money to sit on TSMC I think . Obviously other stocks have been running a lot harder from smaller bases.
With all this money being made or at least stocks going up we should see a strong wealth effect in Taiwan but I honestly have seen very little so far. That could also be one of the very unusual things about Taiwan in this situation or compared to previous booms. Wages should go up hopefully as there are a lot of factories under construction across the West coast.

not sure there’s enough public liquidity / M2 supply to support 3 IPOs…

It’s simple. Just do it.

Terawatt laser beams and laser eyes.

Not that aren’t significant difficulties being stuff there, as you’ve said.

I read recently that the coldness of space isn’t actually all that helpful in cooling the chips and whatnot. No air molecules in space to transport the heat or something.

No small task.

the best public argument for space data centers over land is solar energy generation is more efficient in space

the best private argument is space based data centers are out of the jurisdiction of all(?) countries

now whether it’s still worth it after including the launch and maintenance costs….

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You mean the American economy.

…particularly our military. As the US continues to “redraw” the world map we will see technological advancements in tech and ai in a similar way we saw advancements to technology just 100 years ago with aviation, radios, armored warfare and industry.

Might as well invest in it. We Americans appreciate your interest and contribution.

And if you won’t invest…the majority of European pension funds will.

Not that I want part of your flag stroking , but you’d do better to present your opinion with a peer reviewed journal.

Popular Mechanics is kind of sci-fi fluff these days— for the most part — that belongs right where it is— on Facebook .

You mean how Iran is redrawing the world map.

Iran, you know, the country that’s been sanctioned for decades…?

America needs all the AI it can get, in order to defeat Iran!

You can’t find AI in logic, but you find it in Iraq.

How badly do things have to go before people realise the obvious? Are people in denial? Is it similar to a religious belief?

Why would wages go up when they can just hire more Filipinas for the same wages?

Huh?
