Anyone seen or planning on seeing this?
3D IMAX makes even the lamest movies look cool, but it’s so friggin expensive.
400nt is outrageous, but I’ll probably go anyway.

Ooh, I just borrowed the book from Taipei Public Library for my little girl today. Now I suppose I’ll have to go.

Do they provide goggles, or those little disposable paper glasses, or what? What’s the 3D technology like nowadays? I’m out of touch.

I found the 3D offputting, my eyes couldn’t quite focus on some of it properly, that might have just been my eyes, or having to keep donning and doffing the glasses during Superman Returns. I could focus on the dancing penguin, so must have been me.

There’s a free shuttle bus from some MRT station or other (Jiantan ?)
The space museum (the one couldn’t get the name of a single Apollo astronaut right) has a 3D Imax too. But That shows stuff to show off the technology and give you a headache.
Where’s that? I don’t mind getting a headache if it’s from watching stuff about space.
http://www.tam.gov.tw/ It’s in Shilin somewhere. It’s quite good, but nothing in English (what little there is is complete gibberish) when I went years ago, which is a pity because it is of an international standard. I went with a bunch of kids on a school trip so they showed a rollercoaster ride instead of something about space that might educate them.
Thanks!
…but nothing in English (what little there is is complete gibberish)
It’s OK. I’ll pretend to myself that it’s in Martian, in fitting with the theme of the museum.

(Not real ones though). Maybe if I’m lucky I can see the rollercoaster film and the space one.
There is another IMAX in Taipei: Taipei Children’s Recreation Center (but I don’t think they screen cinema movies there)
You can search here for other places: IMAX think big
I like the way you think joesax!
If you can hold off till Novmeber, lets go on a 3D IMAX tour of Taiwan!

Go to Sydney. Last time I lived there, I saw a 3D IMAX film at the IMAX in Darling Harbour. At least, I assume it’s still there - I last lived in Sydney in the late 90s.
