The Butterfly Effect

I saw this last night. Anyone dig this movie at all? I thought it was a trip, and better than average. Of course, the chaos theory concept is something I have a vested interest in, so I may be biased. :stuck_out_tongue: Kutcher was so-so, but the story made up for that I think. :rainbow:

My only complaint is that once you’ve seen it, there’s no need to go see it again. There were twists, but nothing hidden that you might miss in a first viewing. I think movies with suspenseful endings should have some clues or hidden parts in them along the way to the climax so that even after you’ve seen it once and know how it ends, you want to go back and look for those things. This movie doesn’t have that so no need to see it again. It did like the story line and how the missing parts of the story came back together (like the one with him in the kitchen) and Ashton was palatable in this one.

but steve, is this for real. a butterfly flaps its wings in Chile, and 1000s of miles away in Russia, for example, the effect is felt? explain. sounds wacky to me.

You want someone to explain chaos theory on a bulletin board? Good luck

Here’s a brief introduction.

Whew! Thanks for saving me from that one, DG. I was about ready to write an entire essay on it for lane. :stuck_out_tongue:  :notworthy:

Ok, I’m game! you’ve piqued my curiosity. are you a fractal art salesman? weatherman?

Haha…I WISH I was that vested in it. Sadly, I’m just a common shmuck who has done a lot of research on the topic over the years. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, is that a fact?
:fume:

I think you had better explain where you benefit from it. You said you have a vested interest in it. Just because you spent time writing about it, does not mean that if the theory is defeated you have anything to loose.

Jeezus Chrizt take a chill pill buddy :unamused: ā€œVestedā€ was probably the wrong word to use, so I apologize for any confusion.
