The COVID humbug thread (2021 edition)

Who is THEY ?

When i see we or they in an argument…It’s all downhill from there.

It will become an even bigger problem now omicron is so widespread in certain places.

Thursday, U.S. time:

In a Thursday appearance on MSNBC , America’s top Covid official, Dr. Anthony Fauci, admitted to a distinction between the number of children hospitalized with Covid as opposed to " because of Covid. "

“And what we mean by that: If a child goes into the hospital, they automatically get tested for COVID and they get counted as a COVID-hospitalized individual, when, in fact, they may go in for a broken leg or appendicitis or something like that . So it’s over counting the number of children who are, quote, hospitalized with COVID as opposed to because of COVID,” said Fauci.

What, this past Thursday? Wow, I assumed it was from last year.

As I said…

…that’s who “they” are in this case. The full comment from the first link also says the commenter used to take them seriously.

And what’s so outrageous about it anyway? If we’re going to jab 100% of the humans (aside from the teeny tiny fraction of a percent who have “valid” medical reasons to be exempt), why stop there? The virus won’t stop there, naturally. Some zookeepers have already signed some of their animals up. :rainbow:

It’s funny how damn hard it is to find the official answers to (you would think) simple questions like this.

Some research team came up with a number-needed-to-vaccinate estimate some months ago (several hundred people), which of course gives you some idea of the cost. The paper was almost instantly withdrawn due to protests. The loudest argument was not that the estimation was fatally flawed, but something along the lines of “A NNTV number is a completely inappropriate metric to assess something as important as this”. Which strikes me as uncomfortably close to “it doesn’t matter how much money we have to spend”.

There’s money for everyone!

“The stolen funds represent three percent of the $3.4 trillion dollars dispersed to the American public.”

As @Cake would say, “imagine that”

Aside from scamming and theft, I’m sure most of the money disappeared into “legitimate” but completely pointless activities. How many new billionaires are we up to now? 40? 50?

This is from earlier this year, so I’d guess 50 would be a low estimate.

When you successfully launch a breakthrough medical treatment which then can spawn an entire new medical field based on mRNA which can then potentially treat diseases with no known cure…Well yeah… you can make billions of USD. That’s to be expected !

“much-needed diagnostic tests” :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Sounds like an inteserting discussion topic: Is the world better off financially due to pandemic measures? Which people benefit? Do all? Some? Anyone suffering or suffered financially?
