The Cramps

I recently contributed to this feature on The Cramps discography. Personally, I think A Date With Elvis should have rated higher.

RIP Lux Interior

I had no idea they were still recording as late as that. I was fortunate to see them a few times in the 80s… most excellent live performers, with Lux stage diving into the crowd off a 15 foot high speaker stack at one point, and set covered in black shag pile carpets. and lots of interesting special effects lighting, or maybe that was just the mushrooms.

“Oh when the sun goes down and the moon comes up…”

Dr. John wrote one of the finest liner notes in one of their CDs. My cousin did some photo work for them. I’ll try to find it.

Sad to hear Lux Interior is dead.

I loved The Cramps first three albums.

Human Fly, Garbageman and The Crusher were my favs.

The Crusher

Do the hammer lock do the hammer lock do the hammer lock you turkey neck
do the hammer lock do the hammer lock you turkey necks everybody’s doing it
do the eye gouge do the eye gouge you turkey neck
now do the eye gouge do the eye gouge you turkey necks, everybody’s doing it

alright you turkey necks, i wanna teach you how to do the crusher,
and if you don’t learn it now i’m gonna getcha now
first you take your fist and you put it on your waist,
then you squeeze your partners head until she’s blue in the face
yeah do the crusher do the crusher do the crusher you turkey necks
do the crusher you turkey necks, everybodys doing it

RAwR!

Lyrics and voodoo-rockabilly don’t get no better.

Sad to see Lux failed to stay sick.
