There’s actually quite a bit of truth to the science behind it, lane. Recent real-life analysis and theories have proposed this is possible, although of course would take place over a hell of a lot longer period.
You are so full of it. The movie is so laden with partisan liberal dogma, it is comic to watch. Nice election year movie too! Another “Bush is the Center of All Evil” ploy. I remember back in the 80s when liberal democrats were warning (like Al Gore) that the end of the world would come in 20 years if we didn’t stop driving our cars. cough It’s been more than 20 years now without any more “chads” of evidence that global warming is science. In fact, now liberals are running around talking about “global cooling”. “Don’t vote for Bush lest you want what happens in the movie.” In fact, you even had Al Gore recently encourage people to go see the movie to “be educated”. Glad that cook is not in the White House. Notice you don’t see libs running around talking about the possibility of a nuclear bomb going off in New York by a terrorist. If libs applied the same “it could happen” mentaility that they do to “global warming” they’d be all over passing 1000s of Patriot Acts.
Uh no I’m not. Why don’t you do a little research of your own and see that the premise behind this movie does have a basis in real-life research and recent theories. That the filmmakers chose to, or not, use it as a political vehicle is beside the point. BTW…I despise all politics, so
I don’t give a rats @$$ about the political message behind it. I’ve been studying this kind of science for quite a number of years, so you telling me I’m full of it is a statement beyond ignorance.
Typical. Pass it off as hogwash because it won’t affect your lifetime. Judging from some of your other posts, I think it’s fair to say you are letting your love for Shrub and his merry men cloud your judgment, as well as skew your views and any intelligence you just might have.

Good for you. I’m glad you don’t give a shit about the environment or its natural processes. Now I am going to get political. Shrub the earth-hater. A war-mongering dumbf**k Texan. Where is Alien when you need her?
BTW…in case you didn’t know, waging war is destructive for the environment as well as for people, obviously. And here’s a little picture I dug out of my archives for you.

I hope that was therapeudic … You exepct people to have sympathy for you doing your job. You obviously don’t have a lot of experience using argumentation with support to substantiate your position.
If you applied the same “the end is near” logic that you do to global warming, you’d support the SAME kind of fervour for the war on terror. You’d support a man that takes it seriously, just like you expect a man/woman to take “global warming” seriously.
BUT, you, so far, can’t come out and say as much. So who gives a bunny’s butt that you were here or there on 9/11. It doesn’t seem to have any relevance in your desire to support it from not happening again, threatening my family. You’d still like to be playing around with your science fair global warming project.
Many films/tv shows address current issues, doesn’t mean it’s trying to tell you which way to vote, but I haven’t see this film yet. Star Trek offen addresses issues like racism and enviromentalism, doesn’t make it pro- or anti- bush.
Was Gozilla (the version also directed by Roland Emmerich) an anti-French film ?
This maybe just me but people who say that global warming isn’t a threat yet seem to be a bit like parents who encourage there kids to smoke now cause nothing bad will happen to them in the short term.
Some simple questions?
does the green house effect exist?
If yes is it caused by CO2?
If yes do you think releasing all the carbon that has been buried for so long will have any effect on the green house effect?
If you face a situation where something really bad may happen but your not completely certain what that badthing maybe but you do have options to prevent it, do you consider the options?
Isn’t there a shitload of money to be made in coming up with the clean fuel of the future?
