It’s exactly what they voted for. He’s a failed businessman who pretended to be successful on TV. His bankruptcies and fraud conviction speak more to his economic record than The Apprentice.
As for the military, we knew he wanted to use it more last time and he burned through generals and a system that held him back. There are zero surprises here, see an example from 2019
If his inability to do better on the economy than Biden, or engage in less foreign military interventions (narcissistic bullying) is unexpected to anyone, that’s an argument for not letting everyone have a vote. The electoral college has the right idea, but the wrong criteria.

Less of running scared than political advantages being acted on as quickly as possible. This process of redistricting will create a political race in every state to redraw the maps prior to the next presidential election.
The result will be a political division by geography rather than race, and whichever political party seeks to solidify their power now in their state will do so by breaking up the respective red/blue voting districts.
Political polarization will take on a more pronounced division between the voting blocs from now on.
AFAIK Louisiana is only delaying the primary elections while they study the possibility of redistricting in time for the general in November.
I think the bigger impact will happen in 2028. And it would be perfectly normal for Democrats to win a House majority this fall … and lose it in 2028 via their usual circular firing squad.
And so the Gerrymander Wars begin. This will be a disaster for the country. And with easily drawn, impartial models that can be mapped by even 90s era software, so bloody avoidable.

Fwiw, many of those commenting on the so-called autopsy at WaPo seem to think that the Biden administration’s unwavering support for Israel turned the tide against Harris. I don’t agree that it was decisive, although it may have caused some far left, urban voters to sit out the election.
