The Employment Gold Card Super-Thread

Sorry for the delay! Things were chaotic for awhile and I forgot to check on forumosa. I will send you a PM

I am one of the 12 holders of valid Gold Cards issued in the field of law. I applied for and received my Gold Card in 2025. DM me if you would like to know more. There are so few of us and I do not want to reveal all the information publicly here.

I know this is an old post but ypp did you ever get approved through the NDC? My packet is very similar to yours and I just got sent to the NDC.

Hello All,

I have been browsing through this thread for the last two months going crazy at times trying to give myself some hope. Unfortunately I feel like I might have to switch from the golden visa to another visa.

I recently applied at the end of January of this year under the field of Finance as I am a Budget Analysis for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) in the US. Because this Department of the government isn’t regulated by the SEC the packet was advised that it should apply under the Economic Field.

Today the packet was kicked back again with the advice that it be sent to the NDC, I don’t have high hope for the NDC approval and looking at the Defense Field there isn’t a qualification for just salary alone. If anyone has some helpful advice it would be greatly appreciated.

hello ! would anyone have an idea of how long the gold card extension takes nowadays? I’m under same category (education with a phd), nothing changed.

I’ve heard in the past that extensions based on a PHD can go really fast (two weeks or less) - but there’s no guarantee.

Also, the validity should stack on top of any remaining time - so no downside to extend as early as possible (I think 4 months before expiration)!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask about the typical timeline for Taiwan Employment Gold Card applications, especially for the Digital Field.

I submitted my Gold Card application on 21 April 2026. In the first week, WDA requested document clarification, and I resubmitted the updated documents on 27 April 2026.

Main status: Under review with WDA
Sub-status: Consulting with Ministry of Digital Affairs

It has been in the same status since 27 April. I understand that reviews can take time, but I wanted to ask other applicants:

How long did your application stay in the ā€œConsulting with Ministry of Digital Affairsā€ stage?
Did anyone receive another request for clarification at this stage, or does it usually just mean the ministry is reviewing the submitted documents?

Any recent experiences or approximate timelines would be very helpful.

Thank you!

All gold card applicants should expect 1 month regardless of category. If it’s approved sooner then you are lucky.

Sit back, relax, and drink some bubble tea

Thank you for your reply.
I’ll wait for a month to see if the status changes !!

Also compared to other countries, 1 month is extremely fast for a resident visa

I understand…
Forgot to mention that I am already in Taiwan !! I am already on a work ARC.

I thought this might be quick, but looks like it’s slow overall and the process takes time
