The Texas Tribune previously reported that the massive dairy operation was authorized by the state to more than double the number of cattle allowed on-site in 2019, from 11,500 up to 32,000. The state also authorized the facility to increase its manure production by more than 50% in the same permit with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
That article does not explain either the cause of the explosion or the severity of the ensuing fire. It mumbles something about a fuel-air explosion due to “flammable liquids”, but it doesn’t say whether that hypothesis was confirmed. And if that were the case somebody would have been arrested for egregious safety violations.
No, the investigation is closed, and nobody goes to jail. All is right with the world.

I don’t think the headline is accurate. It was to be expected. They’re simply using the experience to work out how to best to roll them out elsewhere. Nigeria is a testing ground. The WEF and UN know there will be civil unrest. They need to refine it and ensure they can minimize opposition voices and rebellion prior to complete rollout in the west. France, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, Canada and India are all at pilot stage in 2023. Others such as Japan, Israel, Iran, Brazil are at proof of concept this year.
Jamaica and the Bahamas have launched and will be interesting to watch the developments there:

I think it was @cake posted a timeline from the uk cabinet office for the closure of all domestic airports, followed by the international ones. Seems like Europe is following the plan.
As the article points out, it has little or no impact on “emissions” but will be a punch to the gut for the airline industry. My feeling is that they intend to simply force airlines into insolvency.

I just sold what is hopefully the last car I will ever own. I only bought it as a necessity for work purposes late last year. Hadn’t owned a car for ten years before that, only bicycles.
For my remaining years it’s exclusively bicycle or feet for me
