I was 18 when I first heard that. I was completely blown away.

I know one of the songs in that album because he played it with McLaughlin and De Lucía. Today I listened to some of those tracks and I like that stuff.

when you say “it builds”, should you say “it builds up”? I mean, do staff build or build up?

I don’t know what the question is. It builds in intensity. But fairly quickly, then the intensity is sustained. Not a slow progression like Ravel’s Bolero, but a quick one that is maintained throughout like Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries. But most importantly, just turn it way up and roll down the windows (i.e., pretend you’re back home).
