The internet according to NPR's Science Friday, 1993

An interesting/ amusing podcast from Science Friday:

They took a 1993 episode on the internet - one of the first radio shows broadcast online (a word that may not even be used in that show). Really interesting and fun, especially for those of us who remember 1993. Putting the show online slowed down the whole system; they talk about fancy Macintosh graphic interfaces; they’re in near-awe about this amazing network of 10,000 computers. Ira Flatow is blown away by how he found some orchid information all the way from Australia, and he’s amazed that one of the interviewees gets a couple of hundred e-mail messages a day.
