I think you mean “who have an issue with wearing a mask” no? As in will actually protest in supermarkets claiming mask wearing is a goddamn commie plot…
has anyone been following this? what exactly did Huang do to deserve the recall? the article makes it out like the reasons listed are simply because she’s hot and wears red lipstick, and also she supports demonstrators in HK. surely she must have done more than that right? genuine question.
Do you get out much? Take the MRT or TRA. Hang out at a mall. It won’t take you long to encounter Taiwanese not complying with the rules. Hell, I was at a major hospital in Taipei recently and saw more than one staff member wearing their masks below their noses.
Not sure it’s permitted so I won’t post photos of random people in public, but if you have Instagram, just pick out a highly-trafficked place, like a large mall, where people are required to wear masks and you can easily find photos locals have posted of themselves in which they’re breaking the rules.
Here the rule breaking has pretty much been without consequence because there’s no virus in the community. A year ago when the China flu first emerged, everyone was masked up and staying away from public places. Combined with the government’s actions, we were able to basically stop any virus that might have been out there and seal up the border.
If this hospital cluster isn’t contained, it could be a different story this time around. Hopefully not, but there’s clearly a lot of laziness and feelings of invincibility these days. And that has nothing to do with anti-masker Muricans and Europeans.
I believe that the recalls are simply pushback from the Korean Fish recall last year. Specifically for Huang, I had a hardcore KMT supporter say she was a ‘young girl’ who didn’t know anything and was elected simply because she trolled Han…so, basically nothing?
No, I don’t. I have young kids. Thanks for asking.
I go to Carrefour and Costco. Everyone inside is wearing masks. Like I said, the odd time I see people not wearing masks, it’s usually a foreigner. Not always, but often.
Also, from my personal experience working in schools, many Americans refuse to wear or reluctantly wear them while complaining about freedom and such.
I guess I should get out more, maybe I’ll see more.
Very well said! She should be escorted out of train and provided some help or treatment for her mental state. Majority of Taiwanese can’t see that, sadly police neither. First thing they will blame her and all foreigners. Keoni is famous by his piece of s**t articles but this is really too much. Picking on people with mental issues is bottom of bottom.
A foreign woman without a mask on a train is all over the news. Hopefully the former minister of health taking off his mask on the MRT will get the same treatment.
I’ve defended Taiwan News in the past though I rarely read it but that woman on a train story was so insanely bad that I decided to read a bit more to find out what I am missing.
