The Kamala Harris thread

Good for you for being honest in your self-reflections. That’s an impressive trait.

I remember my parents during the ultra Conservative Harper era in Canada. At one point they looked up and said “We don’t agree with what this man is doing.” At that point, they switched how they voted.

Whether this reflects media-driven overconfidence or desperation, it’s a blunder. Harris going to Douglas is the equivalent of Donald Trump going to an anti-abortion rally. The more she talks about this issue, the more she’s nudging voters to remember the crisis at the border — and that crisis is inextricably linked to the administration she’s a part of at this very moment.

And the known unknowns will kill you in the end— well not kill you per se, but

Those include 62,231 convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and 13,099 convicted of homicide. An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions. There are an additional 1,845 with pending homicide charges, 42,915 with assault charges, 3,266 with burglary charges and 4,250 with assault charges.”

These are eye-watering numbers. While they’re not broken down by year, consider this summary of the border numbers under the current administration from Left-leaning Vox: “For most of the decade before [Biden] took office, US Customs and Border Protection had in the range of 300,000 to 500,000 ‘encounters’ with migrants at the southern border each year. Under Biden, the average number has been about 2 million a year, with last year being the highest yet.”

Those numbers do not include “known gotaways,” let along unknown gotaways who are not even noticed by law enforcement.

Didn’t he sell mail order frozen steaks? And gild his apartment with gold? How is steak and gold not classy?

I saw on Tiktok (not MSM, so must be legit) that every one of his new watches has a rare piece of vintage Trump steak embedded in the band

Most of my family is apolitical and doesn’t vote, or is had hated the liberals since Trudeau Sr. ruined the country and they ain’t gonna change now

My parents have softened (not hardened) their politics as they got older. It’s been interesting to watch . . .

They do however still view me as a crazy radical.

The businesses he has gone into to capitalize on the Trump brand are gross for a former president and current candidate.I don’t know how else to characterize them.

Why can’t he get his rake-off in tasteful, demure ways like the other politicians?

Whoopsie.

Thus must be the new form of masculinity, according to ex-WH spokesperson.

Emhoff joked, “If I do something annoying to Kamala, and she gets upset, I’ll just show her that article.”

And the Jerusalem Post says he’s the #1 Most influential Jewish person of 2024. Awkward

Another slap for Kamala Harris.

Looking at what people say they have heard, read or seen about Harris, “lie” has emerged as a persistent top word that some Americans associate with her.

What? I mean— she’s a liar— lawyer! A prosecutor! She’d never lie!

“Kamala says nothing,” wrote one respondent included in the latest survey. “She uses a bunch of words that make no sense. She says she will close the border, but that is a lie to get elected. Everything she promises are lies.”

Ok well you got me there.

The broader focus on immigration (mentioned by 15% in relation to Harris) and the economy (mentioned by 13%) in the latest data marks a notable shift in responses about Harris, following her campaign’s efforts to focus attention on the two topics with a visit to the southern border in Arizona and an economic policy speech in Pittsburgh. It marks the first time in the survey that multiple policy-related topics have landed in the top five for Harris, and the most recent data saw by far the most mentions for immigration-related words in relation to her campaign since she entered the race in late July.

So much for the riding the vibe in 1600.

So women are stupid now? Or how to interpret this?
Shooting someone in a sacastic sentence is a dangerous thing to do nowadays. People do not recognize it as such.
What is with fire him? Where did this term originate?
You are fired!

No

He’s been placed on temporary leave.

Yeah advocating shooting people just winds us up a little in the States. YMMV
