The Last Walkman Phone by Sony Ericsson

From what I read, Sony Ericsson is merging the W line(Walkman) and the C line(Cybersgot) in their upcoming phones and they are abandoning the labels Cybershot and Walkman.

This is, supposedly, the last Walkman phone to be had( SE w995):

Quite typical to SE’s devices, the phone is missing some important features to pass as an entertainment device. No Xvid is a big one. We’ll have to wait for the next new release to fill the gaps… I guess.

The phone can be a whole bunch of stuff, but it’s not a smartphone, AFAIK. But with things such as video streaming, speedy web browsing, Youtube, GPS, loud external stereo speakers, 8 megapixels camera, etc, etc, it might as well be a smart phone.

Anyways, last chance to get a Walkman phone it is. The next big thing Sony Ericsson is coming up with is the Idou:

Touch screen, a whole lot of other stuff and a 12 megapixels camera. That’s right, 12 megapixels on a damn phone. The phone is a merge between the top Cybershot and the top Walkman phone, and it marks the end of the W and C line.

I owned a touch screen for a brief time, and I ended up hating it. I’m bummed out that all newer phones will be touch screen phones. I got the w995 and I plan to ride it out to the bitter end. Good things just don’t last.

I won’t flog the brand name of my own phone, but I’d rather have it than a “latest features” phone, and especially so if Sony is part of the discussion. I bought a “new” model last year made with old 2G technology (i.e. reliability rather than flash and features) because I want to know it will work.

Sony’s attitude toward both customer service and quality of manufacture aren’t what they were a decade ago. You’d be better off with more foam padding in the box than the a “warranty” paper.

I have to agree with that. Like I said, good things just don’t last.

actually the porn doesnt compare at all to whats simply standing around the niteclubs in taipei on a friday and saturday nites. who needs porn when even seeing all these hotties can inspire more.

back to fones.

i just got tired one day of keeping up with the joneses. I had a fone that i got paid 50 bucks to get from an american fone company and that fone was 400 dollars just 2 years prior to get and 200 dollars a year prior and when i got it , it was not only free but they gave me 50 bucks to get it. And of course that was already obsolete features wise. Just tired of all that BS. Now i just like that my fone is a simple fone, not a camera, not a word processor or internet surfer, or PDA, nada. Its a bloody FONE. IT rings and I answer it (if i wanna) and i use it to fone others who also answer it (if they wanna).

keeping it simple.
