The Morgue 2026

One of his last acts was to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Always had an interesting perspective. Will be missed. R.I.P.

That was quick. I just saw an article saying he had been moved to hospice care earlier in the day. Thought he’d make it to the end of the month at least. Anyway RIP.

My local newspaper yanked Dilbert in 2023 on the day the managing editor wrote a sanctimonious piece about “why it was correct to discontinue Dilbert.” Many readers asked him where in Dilbert he found racism (this was when woke near or at its peak), no answer. Was a shame because I read Dilbert daily, and that didn’t change with the editor’s decision. Wally’s various schemes were a big highlight for me.

RIP Scott Adams

“Dilbert” Creator & American Patriot Scott Adams Dead At 68 After Battle With Cancer, Accepted Jesus Christ As Savior Days Before Passing

Look at the charges filed against her. The more things change
. There would probably be posters here defending her arrest, saying “FAFO,” “the law is the law,” “it was pretty stupid of her to defy that officer, this could have been avoided if she’d used some common sense,” “sitting on a bus is a privilege not a right, she shouldn’t have gotten on a bus where was not wanted,” “follow the money, she was a paid agitator!”, and “far left radical”.

Lies! Fake news! Libel! Anti-alien racism!!!

Just sayin’. :flying_saucer:

Yeah, no.

A slightly cynical last minute conversion by Scott Adams.

I am now convinced that the risk-reward is completely smart. If it turns out that there’s nothing there, I’ve lost nothing, but I’ve respected your wishes, and I like doing that. If it turns out there is something there, and the Christian model is the closest to it, I win.

At least he was honest about his reasoning. Maybe I should hedge my bets and join a religion or two.

Odd synchronicity between that and a Discworld Quote of the Day post from today.

Or maybe it’s totally deliberate and the choice of quote was prompted by Adams.

Bela Tarr. His films were like a series of slow moving black and white photographs. Never seen anything else quite like it but maybe put him in the realm of Kurosawa or Bergman.

He should’ve just stuck to spinach.

It’s Pascal’s wager, which is now seen as an early (the first?) application of decision theory.

I wager it’s not uncommon.

It’s a shame he wasn’t treated for his obvious mental health issues. No intervention from friends, family, or medical professionals?

Saved the world from nuclear apartheid!

Yeah, yes.

Who? Name one.

Can’t. They’re being oppressed by the man, man. :man:
