'Course you’re prob’ly not gonna click these anyway, but just in case–
Don’t play this one if you’re depressed, or even just bummed out:

Beauty is in the ear of the beholder! Otherwise someone should start an “acoustic guitar and vocal” thread
Admittedly that guy is an acquired taste (and as to his work taken as a whole, I’m still in the acquisition phase). But for what it’s worth, he’s Number 78 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list, so at least I’m not completely alone (unless there was a hell of a clerical error ). When he played in a conventional way (well, conventional compared to some of his other stuff :s ), he could produce quite an effect, in my view.
In his heyday (the 1960s), I was a kid, and didn’t even know of his existence. I discovered him a few years ago by accident while searching the Internet for information about a deceased eccentric great-uncle of mine.
I love John Fahey.
So I’m not the only one!

I wasn’t talking about your post but in general, and (semi)facetiously at that I like both those songs a lot.
I’m glad you liked 'em.

So, why doesn’t somebody start an accoustic guitar thread ?
Just a reminder that Dr. McCoy kindly put some of the stuff up here on Youtube - good for an afternoon of listening:
Well, jp, searching for Laughner led me to the original of Ain’t it Fun. Christ that’s so much better than the G n’ R version.
I live to serve.
It’s tough to follow Mozart, but I think I’ve got the song to do it.
I just love the way you’ve got restraint shown in the first two guitar solos, and then at 4:46, it goes nuts for the last minute. The horns are just right, the keyboards couldn’t be better, and the vocal layering . . .Man! It just gets me!
I could listen to this song four times in a row. You should, too!
Have we achieved Awesomeness Totality, people?! :bravo:
Can we end this thread right here?!
Dare anyone post after this?!
I feel as if I’m committing a sacrilege by posting after that great tune, but I thought I ought to get the word out about a few of their other tunes that are also pretty cool (I hope I can be forgiven if I’ve posted any (or all) of these before):
Just about a perfect surf song…
