The narratives about Trump thread

Not a bad idea at all. The Ma-Xi summit just made Ma look like the little man he is, but a Tsai-Trump summit? That would made heads explode on a global scale and show both leaders in a positive light.

Do it. Taiwan needs to get on the international radar somehow.

All she needs to say is they will do so much winning together and the people of Taiwan will listen to him and even probably cheer for him like crazy if he comes. Perfect time to pull this after the whole thing with NK.

Does it make it feel better for you that it is declared a crime and therefore the kids should suffer .

That itā€™s used a policy that deliberately harms kids abd families as a way to deter immigration . The Soviets and NAZIS and Chinese and North Korean loved their crime statutes. Love em! Even the Americans when being a Japanese American was a crime and you locked up your own kids.

Anything else you want to declare a crime and therefore itā€™s okay in your book now to separate young children from their parents ? Feel like throwing in a couple of bible quotes also ?
Itā€™s something most Western democracies wouldnā€™t consider and it shows how things have really gone downhill in the US when you are trying to justify that as a policy . Putting young kids in cages on their own with other kids is simply wrong. Wrong wrong wrong.

Even the Orange Manā€™s wife is telling him itā€™s wrong How weird is America these days.
But yeah letā€™s support the Cartoon President cos itā€™s not the other side.

Iā€™ll accept your protestation of moral outrage as genuine if - and only if - youā€™re at least as pissed off at Obama doing it.

Iā€™ll give you credit for objecting to that left-leaning Dem who threw the Japanese in the camps.

If they did it then it was wrong too.
Doesnā€™t make any difference in the slightest who did it in the end , why is it still happening ?

If itā€™s mistreating children as state policy it should be stopped. Hiding behind itā€™s a crime is sick.

Also the people you call ā€˜Japaneseā€™ were and are Americans.

No, itā€™s relevant because the point we are at is after decades of governance where this issue remained unresolved.

You donā€™t at this point get to shriek ā€œTrump the monsterā€ for enforcing laws made by Congres over the course of the last few decades, you donā€™t get to say he can use EO to order this doesnā€™t happen.

It should be fixed, and the people who need to fix it is Congress and the House, that is how things are supposed to work.

You do get to shriek because heā€™s the one instituting this policy now and backing it.

Heā€™s in charge.
Kids are suffering and he can deal with it and still have a hardline immigration policy . Mistreating kids is WRONG .

WRONG.

Playing politics with little kids is WRONG.

Buck stops even with the Cartoon president.
Even his wife and most Republicans are saying the same thing.

Presidents are sworn to uphold the law, not create them, that is the job of Congress and the House.

Total rubbish. Thus wasnā€™t a routine thing and now itā€™s mandatory, he instituted, he can leave the families together.
Treat other kids like your own. Thereā€™s no need to torture them which is basically what this is.

Donā€™t hide behind the law jackboot stuff . Thereā€™s no law saying kids need to be locked up in cages without their parents.

Thereā€™s doing the right thing and the wrong thing. This is the wrong thing and itā€™s done as a systematic policy now.
Kids shouldnā€™t be tortured full stop.

DACA is an example of where, yes there was differed treatment, but Obama had himself said many times he didnā€™t have the authority. Such a law would have been much more appropriate comming from the House and then Congress.

Seems like you like a president to have Dictator like authority, are you sure you want to advocate for that?

Making up stories.
The little kids shouldnā€™t be locked up in cages without their parents when itā€™s not necessary.

Stop torturing the kids for political purposes. Itā€™s wrong.
Even his wife knows itā€™s wrong.

Those pictures of kids locked up in cages were from Obamaā€™s administration, you want a proper fix? The right way to do it is through the House and then Congress and then pass a law, that way it doesnt get tossed aside as easily as DACA that had no grounds except a dubious EO.

Spare me your moral outrage, I hate to see images like that as much as everyone, the only difference is your fixation on blaming Trump for the mess and blaming Trump as the only person who can fix it/.

I wonder how you feel about Child Protective Services. Because the parents involved hereā€¦ theyā€™re not the most responsible, given their track records.

Some parents are just shit. I donā€™t like intrusive government, but there are worse things. All too often, taking kids from their parents is doing the kids a huge favor.

When the hysterical have been put in their place and duly humiliated, there will likely be some adjustments to the law. Not big changes, just a tweak or two. But this is shaping up to be another DREAMer scenario. Hypocrisies will be revealed.

These kids are a political football, and team Trump is about to go for the field goal. Blame those who made them a football in the first place.

Those who canā€™t hold the moral high ground will suffer for having claimed it.

Happening now. Stop torturing kids now as state policy.
Iā€™m a parent I know this is very harmful to children.

Prove itā€™s happening right now. We already know theyā€™ve used images from the Obama era and passed them off as current. These people are liars.

Itā€™s not MY moral outrage.
America is outraged.
Itā€™s not my homeland we donā€™t put kids in cages there as state policy. We house illegal immigrants in a humanitarian system in family units.

You live in lala land. Seriously.
Even the head of homeland security is saying it is happening now.

You actually believe the whole thing is fake ?
You think congressmen from both sides are making up this story after visiting the facilities ?

That is nuts.

One of us does.

Were not the images from the Obama period? Did they not try to pass them off as Trump policy?

What in that statement is untrue?
