We’ve also acknowledged that he’s clearly slowing down with age”, yet Trump now is said to be “not all there”. Biden was much more sheltered four years ago, yet I argued against people who sought to cherry-pick his speeches for political reasons, and though I also admitted he was aging, it didn’t stop me from voting for him. Again, anyone can hear Trump speaking lucidly all the time as he’s not being sheltered at all. YMMV

That sounds super reasonable of me and consistemt with what I’m doing here - acknowledged that Biden was showing the effects of age, even 4 years ago. Trump is too. They’re both obviously declining with age. They’re both worse than they were 4 years ago. I wish everyone could acknowledge reality like that.

Something no-one had on their 2024 bingo card: recently Trump has decided to tell the truth about him losing the 2020 election. Another flip-flop, but assuredly the polling indicated doing so was for the best. Surely such contrasting things can’t be simultaneously true. Trump either thinks the 2020 election was stolen from him, or he doesn’t. The implications seem massive here.

Let’s just call it for what it is though – Trump knows the “2020 election being stolen from him” conspiracy is a massive lie he created, and he changes his belief in it depending on what voter group he is trying to pander to at the time. He (probably mostly correctly) assumes his constituents would be too…sycophantic/ignorant to digest that he is now showing two different stances. He has been doing this with abortion too lately – textbook signs of floundering from his recently poor polling.

Sure seems that the “Trumpites” need a hell of an October Surprise this election cycle.

Back to Trump though - are you not surprised that Trump is (on the record) now saying he actually lost the 2020 election? Why do you think he admits it now?

For years now, he has peddled a huge conspiracy theory that he was cheated out of 2020. January 6th mob would not even have formed if he didn’t lie about this from the beginning…seems like he duped many people and tried to gaslight a lot of the general public. If the media takes his (finally) admittance of the truth (which therefore confirms the suspicions of many he has been lying this whole time) and runs with it, his polling will surely further suffer among moderates, and it could even fracture the faith of his true believers.
