I’d like to know more about what’s brewing behind the scenes with Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, their connection with Project 2025 and the VP pick. I am afraid the typical Trump supporter you can see at those rallies is maga screwed. The elites and big corporations are going to run the show in the same way they do when the Democrats are formally in power. It’s all a sham. For me that is the saddest thing to see. Gullible, mostly good, people, falling for a populist scam artist who will likely make their lives worse in the future.
How can anyone believe that these people have the interest of the common people in mind? Sure, they are useful now, because their votes are needed to get elected. But wait until elections have been out-phased and authoritarian rule has been established. There will be no easy way back to the good old days.
Once the good old days of democracy, we enjoy now, are gone, we surely would like to go back to them. Authoritarian rule, the direction the far-right seems to be in favor of, is surely going to mean less freedom in many facets of life. You might not mind initially if the leaders share common views with you, but eventually they will take away the freedoms that are dear to you as well. That’s how it usually goes.
Apologies for my random ramblings. The above is based on nothing but speculations. Need to educate myself further about Project 2025. But 900 pages is a lot to digest.

I have seen attempt after attempt by the Biden administration to cut against the grain of the constitution ostensibly to protect American democracy from a single political opponent.

Well, that’s their official line now. At least he is honest enough to admit that he knows about Project 2025, unlike Trump who is either brazenly lying or has been too occupied with his legal troubles to educate himself.
Knowing about something does not mean you endorse it. Trump has said he has nothing to do with Project 2025. Project 2025 has said they have nothing to do with Trump.
