I don’t think it’s wise to go on and off the pill, at least that is what my doctor said.

I have seen it here. A few years ago, though.
Every pill has side effects. Don’t let the drug industry tell you otherwise.

Yes you can. It was already too late for me (as I was already pregnant) but I saw a lot of information booklets about pills at my gynecologist’s office.
And there is absolutely no need to go on and off the pill; if the pills are fine for you, just keep taking them until you want to get pregnant.
