CTV reports on this latest crash:
It’s amazing they got everyone out of that plane. No fatalities so far—I hope it stays that way.

Can’t wait to see footage of what happened there. How do the wings get severed? And without explosion?
So Trump is causing crashes in Canada? You do post about the Don, like a lot. Just sayin.
From what I can gather, there were rough weather conditions at YYZ, where the plane made a rough landing and flipped.

It’s the year of the snake… so let’s not rule that out too.
Mandarin md11 crash at chep lap kok HK happened when side winds exceeded max allowed and during landing caused one main bogey to contact ground with some 11G of force exceeding design and the bogey broke causing the engine on that side to impact ground and detach off the wing per design but the plane rolled upside down when the wing also detached and proceeded down the runway dissipating a lot of energy which allowed the fuselage to stay largely intact protecting the passengers inside to a great extent
Driving rain kept the plane from exploding which was a very major factor in most of the passengers staying alive
The plane rolled to a stop very near the airport firehouse allowing emergency services quicker attention to the incident
Over 300 people with only three dead was a miracle
However three did die iirc two from impact injuries and one from drowning while hung upside down and unconscious in an unfortunate pooling of water
This is all going from memories so some fact checking may be needed
Why do I bring this up?
Don’t know any details yet but perhaps this plane also landed hard on one main bogey causing it to fail and the plane to roll over when the wing detached
Wet weather prevented a fire allowing most to survive
If a plane catches fire on landing a great many or all can perish.
I don’t see main gear or a wing
relatively clear video of the landing.
Looks to be a high descent rate, and no evidence of flare? Wonder what was going on…
As I had said possibly hard landing causing one bogey to fail and wing to contact ground and break off and fuselage rolling over
And wet environment resulted
In no fuselage fire
Another one, this year seems a lot more. No survivors

Another crash
I think I’ll skip flying into DCA. Almost hit a military aircraft again and now a kite
I seems a lot more of these in the news recently. Makes me pay attention to safety info more when flying.
