I was supposed to be payed today but wasn’t. My wife thinks the reason why is that the post office bank, which I use, processes transfers slowly. She’s also under the impression that the school fills out bank transfers slips instead of distributing salaries electronically. This seems strange to me, as I work at a big school – at least 300 employees. When I asked the school about which bank I should use, they said it doesn’t matter. Any ideas?
The school probably did the transfer in the late afternoon and so you probably won’t see the transaction until tomorrow at the earliest.
PO bank is probably the best in terms of teller operating hours. Honestly, can you name a bank in Taiwan besides PO bank that opens to the public after 3:30pm M-F as well as Sat morning?
I get my salary via the PO bank. It goes in at the stroke of midnight on the last day of every month.
The PO bank is one of the places I have payments transferred into from off-island clients.
Honestly, I have been surprised at how quickly they do the transaction. The PO bank is most times more speedy than HSBC or Standard Charter (just to name 2 others I use).

Thanks for the information. I asked the school about it, and it turns out they hadn’t transferred the money. They ended up writing a check, which I was able to cash after a couple trips between the bank and the school getting all the proper stamps on the check done.
