Since there seems to be disagreement on what the [url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/the-worlds-top-100-wonders-how-many-have-u-been-to/10800/1 Wonders of the World[/url] are, let’s do one of our own.

In your opinion, of the places you’ve visited, what are the top 10 places you’ve seen or been to?

In no particular order and perhaps some of them are not really that spectacular to some of you but then it’s only places I have been to:

Great Wall of China
Forbidden City
Great Barrier Reef (made my diving license there)
Sydney & Blue Mountains
Boracay Island (Philippines)
Hakone National Park with view on Mt. Fuji
Tioman Island (Malaysia)
Da Li / Lake Erhai (China)
Tallin Old City (Estonia)

Bokor Mountain - Cambodia
Plain of Jars/Phonsavan - Laos
Ko Phan Ngang - Thailand
Kowloon - Hong Kong
Castlepoint - New Zealand
Mt Ruapehu - New Zealand
Taiepei City - Taiwan
Jiufen - Taiwan
Wellington Harbour - New Zealand
The Southern Alps - New Zealand

One of the most amazing places I have ever been to was Masada…though they didn’t appreciate my question of “Why is the Promised Land one big desert?” :laughing:

That would be The Lighthouse of Alexandria, constructed in the 3rd century BC. Back then, people didn’t feel like they had to explain their jokes to me.

My top five experiences so far:

  1. Viewing the Aurora Borealis in the Alaskan sky

  2. Going to the top of Sacre Coeur and L’Arc de Triomphe and viewing the whole of Paris

  3. Watching the sun set over the New York city skyline

  4. Scuba diving in Cebu, Philippines

  5. Rafting down the White River in Michigan

No problem:

  1. Angkor Wat, Cambodia
  2. Vancouver, going skiing and relaxing on the beach all in the same afternoon.
  3. Lijiang, China
  4. Niagra Falls, Ontario.
  5. Taj Mahal, India
