The Trump Presidency 2.0 (Part 2)

Few things are more dangerous than a misinformed public seized by moral panic and a righteous indignation. Such crowds are easily led and misled by inciting whichever sentiment best benefits those co-opting the wills of the people to do right.

History has many such examples.

Epic welcome for Trump in Beijing :us_outlying_islands:

China has completely changed its tone since Maduro was snatched

Playing to the orange turd’s vanity.

What will your response be if Trump sells out Taiwan?

Probably that Trump is the most genius president ever to president

Can’t say he’s a total idiot

His voters on the other hand, continue to get what they voted for

Impossibility.

It’s even better than what they expected.

Um, to the apparently limited extent that the term still has meaning, is that, like, legal?

As long as Republicans control, the executive judicial and legislative branches, it doesn’t matter. They decide what is legal.

Trump get the red carpet arrival…

As anybody who have made real business with China knows, when they roll out the red carpet they are not interested in doing business, just showing off the visitor… And if they provide a luxury banquet for the visitor then one can just return home as a waste of time…

Sounds like something CCP made up to save face for having to roll out the red carpet and beg Trump to end the Iran war.

But so what, US gets to enjoy on China’s dime :winking_face_with_tongue:

So Trump rolled out the red carpet and met up Putin when he landed in Alaska. When Trump arrived to China, he was met by the vice premier… Xi didn’t show up…

Trump the idiot is making China more powerful with more friends, this is very bad for Taiwan and the world

49.8% of the popular vote to 48.3% is a landslide?

So, China paid for the Air force 1 trip, and the McDonald’s meals served to the billionaires on board too lol.

Seems all a waste of money, time with lots of 廢話blurbs. The simultaneous BRICS meeting on de-dollarization of the oil trade would be more interesting, but not a hoot on that.

Putin’s upcoming visit will also probably be hootless. Less is more.

Early reports look like it was the nothing burger expected. Good news is they didn’t concede anything on Taiwan. No bad news is also good news.

Yep, a nothing burger that the billionaires didn’t pay for, but no news is not necessarily good news. Let’s see.

If the only bad news is that billionaires got a free trip to China on a trade junket that didn’t really pan out, that’s only bad news for US taxpayers. And they’re still just getting what they voted for.

Well Xi gave Trump some rose seeds for the beautiful WH rose gardens, except Melania had then all dug up so there’s no place to plant the seeds, which Xi knows full well.

Ttump did get a Boeing deal, which was so far below expectations that Boeing stock fell 4%; OTOH Trump did say he was going to pause the already announced Taiwan arms deal, so that was a nice present for Xi in exchange for nothing. Could have been worse, and the next one will be.

Could have been a lot worse

Economically no deal is better than the usual Trump deal

No movement on Taiwan, which is great

No movement on Iran, which was expected

It could be argued that America was humiliated by Xi pointing out how America is in decline as part of his welcome speech. But that’s the kind of thing that an Asian would read into it, I don’t think the average American would have any clue that they were being insulted. Says a lot that this is how Xi sees the current state of the relationship.
