Fake news?

Can Donald Trump sell a recession?
The president faces his toughest sales pitch yet: convincing his base that a recession is a necessary step on the path to greatness.
Fake news?
Looks like fake news. Canât confirm it

And then there is this
Trump has expressed anger at the delays, and he reportedly had been looking at buying a different jet to use on an interim basis.
This sounds more like a Boeing post. Apparently they have no clue what theyâre doing to put it lightly. If you dig into it. They actually canât do this project themselves and used other subcontractors that also canât do itâŚthey even seemed to have damaged the planes by accident and no prototype has even been assembled.
This project was supposed to be delivered in 2024 and they spent over 5bn with absolutely nothing to show for it.
The current planes are 35 years old. It would be unusual for a civilian plane to be in service past 25 years from what I understand.
Boeing has reportedly fallen so far behind on the $3.9 billion project that it now projects a completion date 2035. Boeingâs Air Force One project has been plagued by supplier, engineering, and manufacturing issues, now chalking up billions over budget.
I stand corrected, thanks!
Ipso facto, he must have little to no intelligenceâŚ
They wouldnât create a prototype for AF1.
Not particularly - US commercial fleet average age is just under 20 years.
Stephen Miller says Trump admin considering suspending habeus corpus.
Iâm not sure why you mean? I just looked it up and itâs just under 15. They donât really fly them past 25 years usually as I said.
30+ is old for a plane. Itâs still ok if serviced but my understanding is that engine has to be rebuilt again and at some point it makes more sense to just retire it and but a new one.
I get AF1 probably can go on longer but itâs certainly aging with Boeing having no real delivery date in the near future.
Sorry, I meant to average fleet age in the US is up to just under 20 years (thatâd be United). That was awkward sentence structure so I edited it, and lost some meaning.
They donât really fly them past 25 years usually as I said.
Thatâs usually for efficiency reasons - plenty of life left in most airframes at that point.

Not all that unusual for a military aircraft though. Shackleton comes to mind, with a 42 year service life, but there are quite a lot of other long life examples, notably the B52, still in frontline US service and projected to serve for over a century.
Civilian airliners have to compete in operating cost and punter appeal, probably the reasons for replacing the existing AF1, though I daresay they are planning on enhancing survivability at the same time.
Oldest airliner Iâve been on was a 707 on the hop to Aswan. No ground access due to insurgent threat in middle Egypt. Expendability and lack of competition might have been factors there. Prominent oily streaks on the engine nacelles and smoky exhaust like the ones you could use to predict which car was going over the cliff in a The Avengers car chase
Ayuh

Ayuh
It would be a âGreat Leap Forwardâ

âHowever, if trade policy leads to a full-blown recession, marked by job losses, weaker growth, declining wages and rising prices as is typical, Veronique de Rugy saidâ
Think Veronique has got that wrong. Rising prices arent typical of recession, but theyâll likely be a characteristic of this one, if it happens, because of the tariff costs, and perhaps because inflation already seemed to be endemic.
Need another term, stagflation isnât negative enough. Negflation? Recflation? Wreckflation? Ohfuckflation?
Slumpflation?
Trumpflation?
Trumpnation?
Trumptemptation?
Ok, now itâs confirmed. A gift to the President from a foreign country that loopholes ethics rules because itâs technically a donation to the Trump Library.
Trump is expected to discuss arrangements for the plane during his visit to Qatar this week, one source said.
