All politicians use subsidies. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. I would need to go back and compare this administration’s use of such programs with previous administrations to come up with an opinion but most of the current subsidies are used to counter the immediate effects of the trade war with China, which will have long-term benefit if things play out in the way the President and his advisers believe. I am fine propping up farmers who didn’t have enough time to get out of the way of gov’t policies that hit them sideways so hard.
