I’m not digging anything up, it’s in the news again because Zuckerberg is admitting it, validating what some people have been saying all along. That is, for the government to pressure private companies to censor people, or for security agencies to intervene in elections by priming media companies to reject legitimate information as happened with the Hunter Biden laptop story, is wrong. Perhaps the most disturbing thing about these developments is the outright cheerleading for them that we see from many in the government as well as others.
Zuckerberg hedging bets is a whole lot of meh. Don’t like administrations talking to media then change the law. Oh wait they tried that.
With Meta having dodged most of the legal trouble around its moderation practices, Wexler said Zuckerberg can now repair his relationship with Republicans in an attempt to ward off other kinds of regulation by the Trump administration — particularly antitrust efforts that could threaten their business at the highest level.
“The companies are much more concerned about the antitrust cases,” Wexler said. “Whatever they can do on the political side that might soften some of these antitrust prosecutions, particularly in another Trump administration, is probably the top priority for them.”

Lol. CNN talking about “censorship”. Fuck that, what we care about is handing the Republicans a victory!
What a surprise:
The company said Bobby Allyn, one of its Tech reporters, had received a response from X saying the link’s blockage was a “false positive,” and the issue had been corrected.
Those NPR articles are just venomous these days!
Do they get paid by the nasty invective?
Yeah I am sure Trump team didn’t do anything completely out of line. /S
Yeah of course it’s been corrected and of course it was an accident. It’s so nice how everything exists in a vacuum. Nothing to see here, move along
I’m sure the initial flagging hurt the spread of that article on the platform.
The shame fades, the loot remains.
OK, what gives you that impression? It seems NPR and many netizens FEEL he personally did something wrong.
Are you an outlier?
It doesn’t really seem like that big a thing does it? Anyway, it was apparently corrected. If only we could hope for that in other censorship cases mentioned above
