My little bro is coming to Taiwan and I want to show him a bad time. I know snake alley is the place for this, but exactly where and when? Do they do a snake show somewhere?
Also, where can I find the thread on places to freak out a visitor to taiwan? I searhced for it but couldn’t find it anywhere.
My work colleagues who come to vist from Canada just love going to see snakes and turtles and other animals tortured and killed for entertainment.
They go to Snake Alley. I can’t understand what the appeal is, and it amazes me that in 2006 it still exists, but more so that people still go along. :loco:
It’s near the Longshan Temple MRT station on the blue line. The real name of the street snake alley is Huaxi Street
Go in the evening. The restaurants where the snakes are served do some “show” once in a while, i.e. hitting the snake with a hammer on their head, cutting them open and taking out the beating heart.
To freak out you little brother just take him over the night market there where all the local delights are displayed. Or take him to the Hello Kitty shop at the corner of Nanjing and Fuxing.
