As I remember it you head out on Wenxin Road which becomes Dongshan Road (eastwards, out of Taichung City itself), over the railway tracks, towards Dakeng and the Dakeng traffic circle. It’s on your right, a couple km’s before (or after) that circle (my memory is shoddy at the best of times).

It’s on your right, up a steep, wide set of stairs. You can still see the rollercoaster up there from the road, rusting away.

I think it’s called Atlantis City or something mythological like that.

Get to the top of the stairs and keep an eye out for the dog.

The turnstiles are still there, but you should be able to get in.

Thanks for the directions. I made it there today. For future reference for anyone interested, it’s called Katoli’s World and is past the Dakeng traffic circle. There’s a new amusement park called Dongshan Paradise about 1km further along the road, so if you’re going by bus or taxi, make sure you tell the driver it’s the old one you want. Some pics are here

Ok, I’ve gotten some directions for the abandoned amusement park near Yangmingshan. It’s called “Mean Dear Land”. It’s on Zhishan Rd Sec 2, on the left past the shrimp fishing places. It’s north of the National Palace Museum. I’ll see if I can find some pics from when I was there and upload them.

I took a look through the shots I took when I went to the park outside Taipei, but nothing really shows much of the park. When I was there, it was to shoot a wedding, so most of the images I have are shallow DOF shots of the couple.

And no, I don’t have any brochures.
