"There is no part of Kwanzaa that is not fraudulent"

I found this article on a website - martinlutherking.org (whgich I have since discovered is a white supremacy site! :astonished: ) It was written by Tony Snow, White House Press Secretary since April 2006. It’s a VERY interesting read.
Nobody ever ennobled a people with a lie or restored stolen dignity through fraud. Kwanzaa is the ultimate chump holiday – Jim Crow with a false and festive wardrobe. It praises practices – “cooperative economics, and collective work and responsibility” – that have succeeded nowhere on earth and would mire American blacks in endless backwardness.

Our treatment of Kwanzaa provides a revealing sign of how far we have yet to travel on the road to reconciliation. The white establishment has thrown in with it, not just to cash in on the business, but to patronize black activists and shut them up.
Yeah?..And?

The fraud of “kwanza” has been well-known in the US for many years.

Here’s what my corporate censor had to say when I tried to click that link:

You guys are pathetic. Next I suppose you’ll tell us the Easter bunny isn’t real. :raspberry:

Oh shit. that site is hosted by a white supremacist organization. Crapola. But Tony SNow did write that article, at least according to Wikipedia.

Never heard of this kwanzaa thing. Just read the Wiki article on it, though. Not sure what the ‘fraud’ is; the holiday is openly acknowledged to be the creation of one man, and it has a limited following. :idunno: Your thoughts?

The important question is: “Does it involve lots of drinking?”

Libations were mentioned, yes.

suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure. :unamused:

I’d never heard of it either until I came here and met Americans who told me its the “African Christmas.” I thought it a bit strange, as I had two African roomates for about five years and I know they’d never heard of it – at least they never clebrated it or mentioned it to me.
Now I see why.

I think we can pretty much rule out anything from Tony Snow or white supremacists as being true.

The myth about kwanza doesn’t have a darn thing to do about MLK or Ralph Abernathy.
Its am urban myth created by a convicted felon torturer who has been teaching at Long Beach Community College. He did it to get Federal Funds and royalties. Its a hoax.

Not a “racist” site:

The TRUTH about Kwanzaa

The Kwanzaa Hoax

And you’re going to hate to read this one…heh heh heh:
Kwanzaa: A holiday from the FBI

Look up the arrest record of Ron Karenga:
“t is a fact that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI stooge, Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.”

Ain’t the internet fun!

Sorry to disappoint you, TC, but I already knew all of that and it doesn’t bother me the least.

Kwanzaa’s not some old African ceremony; it was created in the 60’s by a less-than savory character. As you pointed out in your very first post, that’s long been widely known.

But on the other hand, if some african americans enjoy celebrating it because it helps them to get in touch with their african identity and feel oneness with the pan-african community, then more power to them.

Happy Kwanzaa.

I thought Kwanzaa was some internet download site??
Sorry to disappoint you, TC, but I already knew all of that and it doesn’t bother me the least.
Quel Suprize or whatever that French phrase is.
Kwanzaa’s not some old African ceremony; it was created in the 60’s by a less-than savory character. As you pointed out in your very first post, that’s long been widely known.
Yes. As has been repeatedly stated.
But on the other hand, if some african americans
And what part of Africa would these immigrants be hailing from?
"… enjoy celebrating it because it helps them to get in touch with their african identity and feel oneness with the pan-african community, then more power to them.
Yeah Man…Powa To Da Peoples !
Happy Kwanzaa.
Whateva…

Why is Kwanzaa more fraudulent than Easter, Christmas, Haloween, Thanksgiving, or the 4th of July?

And the point of this thread is to point out what? The fact that FBI mole created something that doesn’t involve self degradation.

Most Kwanzaa parties/celebrations I’ve gone to, is just like Christmas. Full of spirit (soul and bottle) good time laughing and enjoying each other’s company.

So, again, the point to made here is what?

Hey, somebody wants to invent a holiday. Great! I love holidays. :sunglasses:

I propose a Holiday, a worldwide event that all RACES, PEOPLES AND CREEDS can particpate in to celebrate our common economic heritage!!!

And I will call it SATURDAY!

I don’t know what the point is. For me, it’s just a bit of a surprise, as I thought it was an African thing, not an American thing.
