Was driving around the area a lot this month. The old street racin hub in pingtung that is buult for aircraft runway is being totally redone. Opened up, repaved and most importantly it is being repainted comoeltely for air traffic. This seems a bit alarming.if i am being honest. We all know the oppression and threats of war from China are getting more and more serious, could this be part of the prep work for that? Seems a bit serious to turn such a main road into that, even though that was its intended use.
Don’t they still do an exercise every few years, maybe its this ones turn? There were a few along Freeway No 1 and/or 3 I think as well.

Yes, they always practice. Perhaps i always just missed it before. But would they always repave and repaint everyhing each year just for a practice?
Actually that does kind of make sense for here. I really cant see them crippling this artery of a road though (i hear all you busy city folk laughing). Perhaps you are right, its just a temp? Pretty extreme and costly for a practice, but i can see your point
I’m aware it is as there was an accident recently with anbF16 which has been practicng for the practice…If they makes sense. Plus I have seen them prep that road a few times over the years.
I’m highly skeptical of the usefulness of such an activity…But they continue to do it.
I think it’s just to build confidence in the pilots to find places to land if all the runways get bombed, more of a practice runway than one that would be used.
Would you trust taiwan with senstive/classified technology? Although we havent seen many military pictures posted on facebook recently. maybe theres hope if kmt doesnt get elected next time.
