Just buy a really crappy scooter and when some idiot makes a U-turn from the far right lane, ghost-ride your scooter into the car! And then quickly run to the other side of the car and lay on the ground like you just got nailed. The police will have ample sympathy for you.
In my experience around Yungho and Chungho, it’s mostly women who are crappy drivers. Especially taxi-driving women.
But there was this one time that a 1992 white Honda Civic with faux-Leopard skin seats tried to turn right from the left lane and came really close to my wife and I on our scooter. I gave him the fist of fury… and he immediately stopped and got out. As soon as he came out, I started yelling at him in Mandarin (I’m of Chinese descent from Canada, but I only learnt Mandarin once in Taiwan) and he sorta looked confused, but still yelled. And his buddy came on the other side and took out his cell-phone like he was gonna call his “boys”. And the driver’s nasty leopard-outfitted girlfriend started whining like the bitch she was at my wife.
Of course, my wife was scared, being an upper-class and less prone to conflict local and all… so I had to back down. But if it was just me… oh man…
Like the time that I kicked some taxi driver’s car for almost hitting one of my kindergarten students! Haha… left a huge dent there. Then he stopped and told me I should take better care of my kids. Well, you fucker! You shouldn’t drive so fast down a narrow back-lane, and especially when you see children walking!!! Where are you rushing to? The next $70 fare? Needless to say, my co-teacher didn’t like it… the kids loved it, though! Hahaha…
Well he was probably an ABC and some of those people are pretty confused in Taiwan. And secondly was it the latest TT or the old TT?? The old TT was for hairdressers , while the new one certainly can be androgynous! That being said I drove one today. Absolutely fabulous! The car to have! Its actuallly a very nice car.
Didnt check the rear mirror to see if I had pushed anyone out of the way though. Thing is it takes a little getting used to. The little side windows kinda restrict your view until you get used to it.
p.s. glad you are ok, pls drive like everyone is out to get you in Taiwan, because they probably ARE. And you know the old saying: “You can take the man out of the blue truck , but you cant take the blue truck out of the man”

You may be right. I’m speaking totally on guess with my comment. Actually, if he is back, or even not, maybe this will draw a post from him and clarify.
Ya the dangers of commenting before reading the whole thread !!
White on white crime in Taiwan? Ya I saw a white guy smash an empty small heiniken bottle over another white guys head in a bar. Didnt even phase the dude. I didnt stay to see what happened next though as I was just on my way out.
Well here’s a blast from yhe past and now I’m driving a TT albeit the third iteration less hairdresser less androgynous slightly more preposterous
Oh but anyway this post was to talk about the famous golden gate howl I encountered on my way across the bridge this evening when the wind was rather high
This came about after they installed some new slats on the side of the fridge that were lighter and better for the safety of the bridge and supposedly they also help deter suicides, but there is now a moaning or howling sound from the bridge as you can see in this video I made today which was not made in the TT. actually was made in the Prius, but anyhow someone did not do wind tunnel
A few years ago, in high winds there would be a banshee-like howl, it took me ages to locate but there was a multi-storey car park a few hundred metres with some sheet metal on the side of it with a design that caused a vortex to form when the wind went through it
