This trip isn't going so well for me

[quote=“Huang Guang Chen”]Alas while I do have fond memories, there are also regrets, like the fact I was never intimate with said abo lass. I don’t mean this in the Bill Clinton we didn’t have sex sense, although that’s true too, I mean I really can’t back her claim as I never experienced her art in motion, as it were. I merely shook the woman’s hand as she introduced herself and her self given title.

Probably the best thing you could have done. Otherwise, you’d be cultivating the various mushrooms growing on the end of your most private member.

Well, look on the bright side: at least it was a handshake. Could’ve been a kiss.

Anyhow,

Thanks a lot of your suggestions.

I decided to follow advice and go out and travel! Right now I am in Kaoshuing, and I am planning on going to see a bar and the club at building 85, heopfully it doesnt suck but if it does at least im doing stuff.

Also, the love river I hear is nice to see at least once, so ill go take a glimpse of that tonight,

As for tommorrow during the day time, not sure.

Oh and guys thanks a lot for your comments, It’s really making me feel better about things.

Don’t worry, it’s always a bit crap at first. At least you don’t have your chain school’s training program to ‘enjoy’.

Jump in and have fun. Don’t be too reserved or you’ll just become more and more of an observer rather than a participant.

Wow, the Pub was all right, but the clubbing at the “lamp”, which I for some reason though was in building 85 was incredible.

Beautiful women, friendly people, interesting conversations. At first I felt really uncomfy when I went in, but after standing for a while I asked a couple of girls If i could sit with them and they introduced me to like everybody.

Anyhow, too bad I don’t live Kaoshuing :frowning:, at least here they have sidewalks, sorta, well better then taichung

Glad you had fun in Kaohsiung. There’s lots to see and do here. You can take a cab or the bus and ferry to Chijin island - try the seafood, and see the light house. After you see the night market downtown, you can try the (IMO) better night market uptown. Just take the KMRT to the Stadium (World Games Station???) and walk west away from Boai. The night market is called “瑞峰夜市”.

Consider doing your studies here, NSYSU has a great program. If you like nature, try hiking up the “Monkey Mountain” there is a walkway behind the NSYSU liberal arts building leading to the trail. Great workout and awesome views. Bring water, it takes about 45 mins to reach the top. If you go in the morning i’m sure you’ll find someone to help you find the trail or the lookout point at the top. Serious, this hiking trail is one of best unknown attractions in Kaohsiung.

But somebody did advise rabid that the only reason to go to Kaohsiung is that you kind of have to go there if you want to get to Kenting? We can’t leave the poor fellow wandering about that dirty stinky city without later getting his feet wet in Kenting And I suppose no one mentioned the strippers in Tainan?

God you people are unbelievably hard on new folks!

HG

Hey I like Kaohsiung !! Us TAipeians always think thats the capital of hick in taiwan but now I would actually live there. Way better weather then TAipei . Plus you are right, its way closer to KENTING

I can see that this trip is going from bad to worse. :frowning: I really feel for you.

There must be a similar place in Taizhong, after all you have a million people living there.

I think that some lass will have her claws sunk in you before the term begins. :help:

the last sentence? I have no doubt !!

Taizhong, right?
Head up to Puli ways.
Lots of lovely lasses up there. Nice scenery, too.
Christ, as a decrepidly retarding married-with-two-kids-geezer, I think I’d give up one of my digits to even dream about having the luxury of even thinking about being bored.
That said, I do hope the OP gets out & about.
Get some wheels, head up to the hills.
Talk charm to every woman you see, no matter the age.
It’s good practice for the real deal.
And if that’s all too much, there are wads of books just waiting to be read. Find a field with some shade. Kip out, read a few chapters and groove out on the cloud formations. Write some free verse.
If one has no baggage, the trip is always open for revision.
Fret not, it ain’t nothing but a thang!
All things must pass.

Caveat: Dating is Taiwan is quite possible and is an adventure, usually a lovely one, but it’s not without its risks:

These risks are in no order of likelihood:

  • Psycho girlfriend: The girl cannot accept the humiliation of you breaking off with her, and will become hysterical, threatening suicide, stalking you etc. I have heard of about 4 cases in my 7 years here, there must be many more, but it’s not that common.

  • Gangster girlfriend: If you go clubbing in Taizhong, you should be aware that the local gangsta’s aren’t too into foreigners chatting up their girls. Try to find out who a girl’s with. Go over to her table, and offer to buy them a drink. This will give you a feeeling for the situation. Don’t get into a fight over a girl with a Taiwanese guy because he will get his friends to help stomp you.

  • Damaged goods: The girl may not be what she seems, and thus goes for foreigners - especially new fish - because she has lost points in her own culture.

  • Girl who wants to get married: Strangely enough, some girls here who are looking for a permanent relationship do so by having sex with foreigners they meet at bars. The antidote here is to be honest very early on about how long you plan to stay and what your level of commitment is.

Hope this helps!

It’s all a bit complicated for a newbie. And that’s why Tom Hill and I are strong advocates of dating a porno mag (Tom is something of an expert on “jazz mags” so he knows what he is talking about). A bit later - let’s say a couple of months - the “rabid” newbie will be able to graduate up to dating real women, and get himself some sweet-tasting “pie”!

Crikey, as if you lot didn’t think it enough sullying up my memories of my almost experience with the abo Taichung blowjob queen with your talk of the pox, here you are now throwing psycho xiaojies and gangster molls into the poor fellow’s mind. AND right now he happens to be in Kaohsiung, where they all pretty much look like gangster molls.

You guys are such bastards!

HG

The fellows are being gentle here.

Instead of choosing to feel badly about what you lack, why not choose to feel energized by what you have (e.g. free time, enough money to enjoy yourself)? Sure, have lots of fun, but apply yourself to your language studies. Plenty of people will be willing to help you, and energy is attractive.

Well where theres an angel there is a devil. Just trying to warn the guy hes navigating in uncharted waters. And of course we ARE extremely jealous (some of us):slight_smile:

HERE BE DRAGONS is never more true

Yes, we are just trying to give a wee heads up, just like those signs by the hiking trails warning of poisonous bees and snakes.

While we’re on the topic of pscho xiaojies:

(Psycho xiaojie, qu’est-ce que c’est? …A-huh huh ha, huh-huh huh huh ha huh…
Run run run … run run awayyyyyyyy eh hey hey heeeeeeeeeeeyyy AI YI YI YI YEAH!)

I think the girls one meets at university are much less likely to be in any of the four risk categories than bar girls.

I sense something in the not so distant future. quack quack quack…

Unless you are obese, you will have no trouble landing a date, and probably a fruitful one. I read the first 2 pages of this thread, and then skipped to the last, so if the advice I’m going to give below had been repeated, much apologies, but I see no reason why one should have to waste time reading a bunch of obvious drivel:

www.tealit.com -go to the Personals
www.asiafriendfinder.com -go to Taiwan and then the Personals

If that fails, leave Taiwan ASAP

By the way, considering the very real possibilities by investing a little time in Tealit’s personals and AsiaFriendFinder, why would anyone bother buying a porno mag?
