So, stupid question
(I know, you can’t believe either)
, if you’re a tiger (oooh and I am, baby), and it’s a tiger year, is that super double-good?
Well, what was life like when you were 12? How about 24? ![]()
And I believe the correct term is “super-de-duper.”
I thought you lot were verging on extinction. Can’t be that good.
I remember some old gub in a temple telling me that as I was a Yang, at the beginning of the last Yang year (2003 mebbe?), that this was a very bad thing for me, and I should take out some cosmic insurance for that year. This involved bribing some deity with NT$100 and a dodgy looking tangerine, in exchange for a little prayer slip.
Though I think your luck is already in with avoiding all those wedding invitations.
Zender - 12? Got braces, glasses, went to secondary school and started puberty. Not my finest hour. 24 - having a lark in Bangkok. Hmm. Not good, not bad, tbh.
jp, well, someone built a motorway between me and Sainsburys. My natural hunting range has been greatly reduced. I’m feeling compelled to attack a child from behind and steal a goat. And being a rare white tiger, I fear being kidnapped and displayed in a Taiwanese zoo (again). Better keep my head down.
But seriously - is that how it works? is ‘your’ year a year of … stuff?
Um, T, I’m going to a wedding in May. Informed that no chicken testicles will be served, though. Edit or did you mean you got wed in '03?
I can cough up two quid and some kind of citrus fruit, I suppose. I’ll face east.
That’s just the start.
The prayer slip always says, “You’ll have to pay the old gub more money if you want to have a super-de-duper year.”
Tigers: You are sensitive, emotional, and capable of great love. However, you have a tendency to get carried away and be stubborn about what you think is right; often seen as a “Hothead” or rebel. Your sign shows you would be super-de-duper as a boss, explorer, race car driver, or matador.
According to the relevant websites, Tigers need to be careful in Tiger years (犯太歲). Monkeys (對沖), too and - to a slightly lesser extent - snakes. It does not only depend on which sign you are, but also the actual year you were born in. Besides, this year is Tiger Wood’s year (haha), the wooden Tiger is not that strong anyway. Don’t worry! If you do worry, go to the next temple and ask for 安太歲.
The best thing to this year if you are a tiger, is to stay in bed. My friend, the teaman, says though that as long as you don’t believe in those things, they won’t have any effect on you either :-p
Hey B’Cup I’m a piggy so we can be friends!

Not sure if going to the temple is the best strategy.A colleague of mine tried to do this once, I mean, to appease the TaiShui but got hit by a car right after he’s shed his load of money in the temple. Maybe it was the wrong temple , or maybe he was too miserly with his donation, I dunno.

Maybe he didn’t believe in it…
Well, my pal got a job lot of out-of-date Pringles, so I sometimes used to go to temple with her to offload those on Guanyin. ‘Pray for a nice boyfriend…’ she used to say ‘… and to clear your skin up.’. Taiwanese women are a mirror, sometimes.

Classic post?
I’m off for a week. You all have a happy and safe new year.
I’m a tiger and I was told by a CT I shouldn’t go to any weddings this year because I would bring bad luck. I hate weddings (freakin cost too much) so I’m cool with that. :discodance:
you’ll have to be 24 to be a tiger…check again.
Or 36 or 48 or 60?

I hope I also make it to 60, Ms Buttercup.
Nope, I’m a tiger. I was born in January before the CNY so I’m year of the tiger and not year of the rabbit. Or at least according to a bunch of people in China. Someone told me I’m a “xiao laohu” and I was amused.
