Weird or what ?
Covered 40 miles today at 36psi front and rear according to the simple gauge but it was 34/34 per the usual gauge I have been using
One or both of them are wrong perhaps
Anyway this thing zips along today on the almost all freeway run
I had to watch the Speedo and to bring it back down to 65 as the thing kept going to 70 effortlessly much unlike yesterday when I had to push it to 70
Was much more fun to drive than normal
Could keep up and even pass most road traffic I encountered cept the bimmers and what not
So yeah eye opener it’s like a whole different car performing largely similar to my rsx at least in the city. Freeway its not a contest.
Mileage over the 40 miles went down to 40 mpg down from yesterdays coastal run of 50 miles and averaging 55 mpg
Still it’s a good trade off much better performance vs 20pct less mileage but still better than the rsx averaging 30mpg and the TT 28mpg
Course the RSX could pass most normal cars and even more so the TT with a top speed of 115 and 130 although I have not taken either up to those speeds
Still it’s nice to have the Prius perform
At this level
Very refreshing
I have tsken the Prius close to its top speed of 90mph (downhill) so still it’s limited what or can do
Especially big hills usually bring speed down to 55 for the Prius but today on the same big climb it was able to do 60 easy
Tire pressure makes a huge difference !! But being able to run at a good clip (at least for the prius) does bring the MPG way down.
Either sensors embedded into the valve stem that directly sense pressure and pass it along wirelessly or it uses abs sensors that are calibrated then sense a delta rotation to calc pressure deltas.
Some Hummers had it back in the day, and available as aftermarket catering to offroad crowd that adjust pressure based on conditions. Wouldn’t be shocked if some ultra luxury brand had it.
I’m at Mitsubishi dealship right now listening to them oversell useless shit i dont need nor want, whilst them not listening to what I’m saying about a loose wire/sensor issue.
1 hour in, I still have not been shown where to check the tranny oil. I worry even saying tranny now devolved into stupidity. I miss people that could get shit done and move on to the next customer.
Meanwhile, $359 or some such number to clean my windows.
LOL, really? Although I don’t think I’ve ever used a key in a passenger door and in the drivers door only when either the big or small battery was dead.
There it is, as predicted haha I say tranny all day. And I’m not gonna hide the fact the marketing department doesn’t want to show us the stick.
But, yes. It is retarded not to have a key slot on the passenger door. Just cutting costs. I have a list of the truly dumb design measures and cost cutting that goes on on these vehicles. But, I digress. Every model of vehicle deserves its own thread about what improvements and degradations have occurred with their evolution.
The battery being dead is the first and most obvious reason to keep the key holes. manufacturing isn’t about customer convenience so much as customer subscription, and alike.
