Hi all, I have a question.
I just finished my contract, but I’d like to stay for another month or so, so I was wondering about just overstaying my visa. On the immigration website, it says that an overstay from 11-30 days is fined 3000nt, which is about the same as a return ticket to Manila to get a landing visa.
What do you think? Is that a crazy idea?

Yes, it’s crazy. Don’t do it.
A very bad idea. Even if you are not barred from returning (which is at their discretion), if you ever have other immigration problems here in Taiwan, the fact that you overstayed will be held against you at every turn. Don’t overstay.

NTD$3000, as in less than USD$100, for a roundtrip ticket from Taiwan to Manila?

Its not just Taiwan. You can get blacklisted from lots of countries for having any kind of visa infringement. Don’t be a dick.
