I’m not good with that kind of stuff. They definitely look military standard though.
Are they strafing, dropping paratroops, that sort of thing?

They were going in circles. Still going. Dipping down and going back up. Sharp turns, that kind of stuff.

Probably an exercise. The tempo of military exercises and preparedness has picked up given China’s agression.
Sounds pretty benign! If they start shooting rockets at stuff, let us know

Kind of weird to do it here. This is a very populated urban center. Hopefully there’s not a training accident or it’ll be more than the pilot’s life at stake.
There were several (one at a time, not Chinooks!!, a few minutes apart) travelling to and from the Taipei area along the Dahan River valley yesterday - same route as the run-up to the Double 10 show. Crew Training, Exercises probably. I gather that most Choppers in Taiwan are Military, maybe a few Rescue ones, doubt any private ones exist.
US Army Special Forces are in town doing exercises and training with Taiwan. Taiwan equipment.
Been in the news.
