Toyota Prius review (finally!)
Moldy or musty smell from the a/c might mean your evaporator box have mildew in it. Remember to turn off your re-circulation switch when you park your car to prevent mildew growth.

If the smell is coming from the vent, clean it with a damp cotton swaps, then blast the heat for 10 min to dry it out.
Yes, I did all that when I first started to have the problem, but it was too late by then and had no effect.
I am starting to do that now though, but my old Solio never, ever had the recirculation turned off and never had a problem at all. I still rate Suzuki very highly.

My father has one…it’s an amazing car that’s a joy to drive. My main complaint is the relatively large blind spots on the left and right of the windshield, increasing the possibility of hitting a pedestrian who’s crossing at an intersection when you’re making a right turn.

During my recent visit to the Bay Area I saw an amazing number of Prii (often four on the same block), but I saw very few when visiting the Midwest (Cedar Rapids, Louisville and St. Louis) - only six the entire week of my travels there.
Lots on the west coast because they were the first areas available, especially California. Also, California has added benifits for hybrid car owners. Tax deductions and ability to drive in the carpool by yourself.

You guys should check out the South Park episode about Smug. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smug_Alert! Pretty funny and some what true about some hybrid drivers who only drive them to be hoity toity.

For Taiwan, I would try to wait a few years when Prius becomes late model cars and try to get them second-hand, as I see the OP got something of a discount for the 06 model which is no different then the new 07s although I hear 08s will have a different electronics system but this is mostly for in-cabin issues and not for driving. I am trying to lining up a second-hand Prius when I get back to California.

Well I saw a car yesterday… no idea what it was…Honda badge, and some ugly cover over the rear wheels… made me think of the Prius instantly for some reason - even though I know it wasn’t a Prius~

That’s honda insight…funny looking car

that’s the one~ did a photoshop comp with one before… but forgot what it was called~

So any more updates as a Prius owner in Taiwan?

I’m in the market for a new car this year and I’m considering either a Prius or Lexus IS250. I already have a bike for going fast so I’m not looking at performance too much but I don’t think I could live with anything unbearably slow. How is the Prius to drive on a day-to-day basis? You mentioned some problems with visibility which would be a big turnoff for me because I hate having my view obscured. I’m also worried about things like service and battery problems on such a new vehicle - how’s it turning out?

I might yet be sold on the Prius but right now the Lexus is way in front. I’ve never heard a bad word said about Lexus support and I like the IS interior and ride quality. The Prius does seem to have a lot more options as standard though - any idea if they’re still going for around $1.2m now and what do you get thrown in?
